PLANK BENCH
This piece uses traditional Japanese architectural building techniques to create harmony between a simple base material, Oregon pine, with complexity in design. No nails, screws or other hardware are used.
The structure of the leg and seat joint is not intended merely to be pleasing to the eye, but designed to absorb and utilize the weight distribution to bring strength and stability.
One of the key design principles at Cassette is the responsible use of materials, which allows us to
discover and create a feel unique to each piece.
We find owners of the Plank bench enjoying them in a variety of ways – as a display base, a low table, an objet de curiosité, a conversation piece.
